Five Islands Magic

My wife, 3 kids (ages 2, 4, 8) and I stayed at the Five Islands Beach House over three weeks during June and July, 2020. After months of staying at home and working and schooling virtually, we were seeking someplace to unplug and reconnect with nature and ourselves. This house proved to be exactly what we needed and so much more. I would not call this house luxury accommodation and thankfully it is not. It is not a place to seal yourself off from the outside world and bask in an air conditioned, modern cocoon (though all rooms have AC and are each very comfortable and serene). Rather this house is meant for opening the sliding doors in the main house, feeling the ocean breeze as you eat breakfast or sip a cocktail. It is meant for swinging on the tree swing or relaxing in one of the hammocks and staring at the ever changing horizon. It is meant for choosing one of the many porches to sit or lounge on and read or just look out on the amazing gardens filled with butterflies and endless varieties of palms. Our favorite activity turned out to be observing the changing clouds and weather patterns, including the waxing and waning moon, as each day provided something markedly different than the last.

As parents, we loved the effect this place had on our kids. Though it took them a bit to get comfortable and aware of their surroundings, once they did, they were exploring, playing, cataloging shells and rocks, pushing each other on the swing, lounging on their beds, swimming in the pool, and digging in the sand in the yard and down below on the beach. Though we were cautious of the high sea wall with our 2 and 4 year old at first, after many reminders and warnings in the first days, we all eventually forgot about it and all was well.

This house is unlike any other we have stayed at. It is magical. It is transporting. It is uniquely and amazingly Thai. We greatly look forward to our next visit!”

A week in paradise!

I spent a fantastic 2 weeks in Koh Samui with my family. The first week was in the Five Islands Beach House, before moving to the owners other villa, Beach Villa Charmant. The setting is idyllic as you enter the private double gates into this beautiful typically Thai set of buildings which form the Villa and most tastefully furnished. We spent much time in the pool which is set in between the buildings within a lush background of trees and beautiful shrubs. We enjoyed the most relaxing holiday here, away from it all. The front of the Villa overlooks the sea where we experienced the most stunning sunsets every evening. Steps lead you gently down to the sea. A few yards along the seafront takes you to “the Island View” seafront restaurant, which serves great choice of excellent food. Piwi, the villa manager was great and helped us with everything that we needed to know, she also made us smile with her great sense of humour. A very relaxing and fun time had by all.

Stunning villa for an outstanding stay

The villa is precisely described by the owner and on site it is a real charming place, peaceful and the configuration allows for privacy when several couples share it.
The pool on the back side of the main pavilion has its own charm as well and , if at first it seems weird not to have it beach feont, we plenty enjoy it separately from the beach front side.
The proximity of island view restaurant that provides gorgeous thai food as well as mum a roy , make this place a " no need to leave it for 10 days"
Logistics provided was great. Transportation/ pick up from and to the airport Our driver that is used to it, had also arranged some scooters rental during the trip from the airport to the villa. They were already there when we arrived ;-).
The staff on site is quite nice and accomodate several things, but not the cooking nor the laundry (except for the bedding from the house).
Only caveat would be the people from outside, on the beach side, would not hesitate to cross the properties without even apologizing or saying hi, even though it is marked private. People can and are rude. A place to stay as an haven on hearth, nicely decorated , pure thai style wooden structure. Stereo which allows old iphones to be plugged need a bit of repair but lots of nice cd's left by the owner are enough to pump up a nice loungy jazzy sound when enjoying the stunning sunset from the beach garden.
The villa is located in a remote location, away from lamai or chaweng, which, in essence, is a good thing. Those main areas are accessible via scooters or taxi (5 to 600 baths). The intercontinental nearby offers a gorgeous view from their bar.
If you want the thai experience, in a good way, five island villa is a place to stay and share with friends or family

Paradise for all the senses....if only I could teleport back there now!

Where to begin? Five Islands House is quite simply one of the most beautifully observed and curated houses in the most stunning place with amazing views I have ever seen.

Around every corner there is another surprise; a beautiful view from the veranda of the main house with the 5 islands the house is named after over to the left, the sun sets directly in front of the house in the evening. The gardens are lush, vivid, and very well kept. The amazing traditional main house is adorned in antiques, artwork and is a wonderful place to gather. Its main bedroom is so romantic and the views from here are to die for. My kids loved the swimming pool and the two smallest ones learnt to swim there.

The sea is reached by a few steps down from the main house and it is very clean here. We even saw prosperous one night. I only wish I knew you had to swoosh the water around to make it come even more alive. Take a trip out in the local fishing boats. Much more fun than the organized big tours and half the price. The sheer amount of fish in the water to see when you were snorkeling were incredible. I hope one day I can return there, until then however it will remain vividly in my imagination.

The most PERFECT beach house in Ko Samui

I stayed here with friends, it is absolutely amazing. A perfect location right on the beach. The accommodation is spacious with the most fabulous sunset views, a beautiful pool, a mix of really tasteful Thai art and all the amenities you could possible want. Just sit back relax and enjoy all this place has to offer. The best beach house Ivecever stayed in. I would say you MUST visit this gem of a property.

Escape the Madness

Whether it's the hectic lifestyle of Koh Samui's tourist invasion you need to escape or the craziness of modern life in general, here's the perfect place to get away from it all. The photos of Taling Ngam hardly do justice to this haven of peace: a secluded beachside villa, swimming pool and tropical garden, you could easily spend your entire stay just chilling out at the place but if you need to get out and about on a regular basis, car rental is a good idea (motor bikes are not).
The villa itself is beautifully constructed in wood in the traditional Thai style with three separate sleeping quarters, a shared living area and a basic kitchen to prepare breakfast etc - you wouldn't really want to cook full meals as there are good value restaurants nearby (the Mum-A-Roy for good quality street food and the Island View for something a bit more up market on the beach).
If you get up early enough you may be lucky to witness the local water buffalo taking a morning dip in the sea.

Chilled

Stayed for a week in July. Was looking for a totally relaxing week, in a quiet spot, right on the beach. Fitted the bill perfectly. My wife enjoyed exploring local foods, markets, restaurants ( her thing) , i never left the premises except for beach walks, snorkelling / island trips. Made even easier with Piwi organising / advising on all needs /wants such as bike hire, airport transfers , massage, etc, etc. All good. Keen to go back.

Exquisite

I have had the pleasure of staying there on a few occasions and cannot stress strongly enough what a fantastic place this is to come and relax. The setting is exquisite right on the water with a few steps leading straight into the ocean and the accommodation is superb with beautiful traditional Thai architecture and beautifully furnished. Most attractive is that it is away from the hustle and bustle, noise and crazy suicidal traffic and overcrowding of the north-east of the Island. This is a place where you can truly kick back, relax and forget about the world. This is a place where you can just be.

Paradise found!

A fantastic Thai house right on the beach, Amazing views and peaceful and serene location. With 6 adults the 3 separate annexes in the complex meant we all had our privacy, beautiful gardens with a fantastic pool, The veranda was wonderful to relax on and watch the amazing sunset over the 5 islands. The area is still pretty rural with some big hotels a short walk along the beach, cocktails at the sunset beach hotel were amazing,Muma roys thai restaurant a few minutes from the villa was good local food and they even do a take out service. Really felt relaxed and able to unwind and the setting was magical! A small Thai village and Buddhist temple a few minutes walk away.

The house is like a heaven in this rather messy and crowded (but gentle) island ! Located on the south west coast, we had awesome colorful sunsets every day. Piwi was a perfect house nurse, managing bikes and car rentals for us and was so helpful ! Nice Noi (the gardener) keeps the lush garden as an incredible eye pleasure. It is probably the most beautiful traditional house of the island ! Teak rooms smell like you are in an old wooden yacht... Sheets are from the softest egyptian cotton and nights are and lulled by the waves... Location is perfect, at some 6 miles from a big fresh food and vegetables. We went fishing with the nearby fishermen and took huge barracudas and king fish!!! We will certainly put an option for next year same same period.

Blissful and serene sanctuary

The Five Islands Beach House in Taling Ngam is the perfect place for a dream escape. As you can see from the photographs it is a traditional style Thailand design built entirely of teak, with all the mod cons of beautiful bathrooms and a full sized kitchen. From the moment we arrived we were overcome by the beautiful layout of the gardens which provide perfect seclusion for those of us who want something special and away from the hustle and bustle of touristry areas. As it is right on the beach the views are gorgeous and the house is ideally situated with a large deck where one can relax in the evenings to watch the sunset. Jackie and Oh a lovely Thai couple are the caretakers. Oh is a trained chef and takes great pleasure in cooking a traditional Thai meal at your request. We would highly recommend it!

Stunning house, amazing location, divine food and perfectly relaxing.

What a treat to stay in this luxurious traditional Thai house. The location is so quiet and peaceful but there is so much to do. Highlights for me were, drinks on the patio overlooking the the gorgeous sea views, relaxing beside the pool, wandering a few meters along the beach for the best Thai massage and the great hospitality. Loved it!

Should be 6 stars

Stayed here with my wife for 2 weeks. Beautiful huge wooden house on the beach in Taling Ngam, a really peaceful part of the island. Slept 2 and 8 would be easy. All mod cons in a beautiful tropical garden/beach setting. There is a really helpful Manageress Piwi who lives nearby who can organise anything for you. There are 3 seperate one bed ensuite pavilions, aircon and large ceiling fans and one very scenic bedroom upstairs in the main house overlooking the sea. Several very nice restaurants around and a lively village, Tong Krut nearby too. Piwi can organise car or bike hire.Very very highly recommended

Fantastic beach house!

My group of family and friends had an absolutely amazing time at the Five Islands Beach House. it’s such a stunning place in a beautiful setting. We found it really well equipped with everything at hand you could possibly need for a relaxing holiday. The staff were so kind and accommodating. The bedrooms were spacious, airy and beautifully presented and the main house had such a wonderful view of the sea with some of the best sunsets we have ever experienced! We also loved the pool area and gardens which were very well kept. We wholeheartedly recommend the Five Islands Beach House and would love to return!

Beautiful traditional thai style villa in a lovely and quite area with nice beaches and nice restaurants. The sunsets while sitting in the beautiful garden are just amazing. We will miss it. The communication and the help we got from Ann for our transfers were just perfect! We would definitely come back. Thank you

Wedding by the Beach

We had our wedding at the Five Island Beach House on the 1st of Jan 2019. It was the most perfect location for the wedding with amazing sunsets everyday. This is probably the only Authentic Thai Style Resort in the whole of Koh Samui. It has all the modern facilities nestled in a beautiful traditional concept tucked away in the Taling Ngam Paradise. Large Rooms, Beautiful Main House overlooking the beach, Lovely Gardens, Private Pool, Private Beach, Ample Parking, Restaurants within walking distance. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to experience a True Thai Holiday.

QUITE AMAZING

We have just spent a most wonderful week at THE FIVE ISLANDS BEACH HOUSE. Hidden away in a secluded location, this spacious property tumbles down to the inviting sea. White sandy beaches on both sides, a saltwater pool and all the space in the world Exotic gardens surround the main house and separate bedroom suites, all exactingly built in the finest timbers. There are many restaurants in the area, but right next door, 2 mins walk, is one of the best on the island " The View Restaurant.
You will want to come back here, over and over again.

Five islands is a lovely villa set in a nice location looking out to sea, the property is a very nice traditional Thai house and has all amenities. Piwi who is the maid/advice expert/ and much more is very friendly and helpful. I would advise the hire of a car to get around the island as the location is away from the main stream. It does have a few restaurants and bars near by which do nice food. I would recommend this villa to anyone wanting a nice relaxing holiday but not to anyone who wants to be out clubbing every night.

An Authentic and Charming experience

We were wanting a Thai experience for our stay on Koh Samui Island and found that in 'The Five Islands' beach house. It has traditional teak construction and furnishings with a beautiful sea view and stunning sunsets. The rooms were spacious and comfortable and the property was private with a nice inground pool. We would love to return.

Traditional Thai Paradise

This was our first time to Thailand and Five Islands Beach House made our holiday and completely exceeded our expectations! The villa is about 30min drive from the airport and away from the main town and tourist area which is exactly what we wanted. We were warmly greeted with a welcome drink and refreshing cool towel from the property managers Jackie and Oh such a genuinely lovely couple.

You'll see from the photos this property is a traditional Thai styled villa, each of the rooms are beautifully decorated with Thai artwork.

The property is really well laid out, if your traveling with a group there is plenty of separation between the rooms which allows you to have privacy when needed. The pool is located in the gardens of the property so you are not exposed to any onshore wind. It was rather hot during our stay so we found the pool very refreshing or you may choose to take a dip in the ocean and take in the view.

Restaurants, local shopping and the mummified Buddha in the temple are within easy walking distance. If your looking for the perfect place to distress, relax and unwind then this is great value for money and we can't wait to return soon!

Luxury, fine dining and a view that I have never seen even after visiting Samui for 7 years in a row!

If Thai style villa with your own private chef, a stones throw away from the beach and the most picturesque view of the five islands is your thing then I would hands down recommend you stay at the Five Islands Guest House. This is our 7th year in a row visiting Samui and our stay here was second to none. My favourite times were having dinner on the open veranda with moonlight above the ocean and the five islands in the distance while being served the freshest seafood by the friendliest original thai family. The location is perfect too, much quitter than Chaweng and non of the bother that comes with staying there. Total bliss, harmony and relaxation!
